GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) — State police say a 26-year-old man from Honduras was stopped in central Indiana while taking two youths to Ohio to work off a debt their family owed.

State police Sgt. Rich Myers says the man faces a felony charge of human trafficking following his arrest Tuesday after a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near the central Indiana city of Greenfield. Myers says troopers determined the two juveniles, about ages 12 and 13, were being held against their will.

He says the children were being taken to Columbus, Ohio, because of a debt family members owed to someone in Mexico. The juveniles were turned over to child protective services and the man was jailed. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
