Wanted man found hiding in bathtub

AVILLA, Ind. (WANE)  Police found materials to make a one-pot meth lab early Tuesday morning when acting on a tip they found a man wanted on outstanding warrants hiding in a bathtub with  a woman in an Avilla apartment.

According to a press release issued by the Avilla Police Department, officer got a tip that Christopher Carmichael, who was wanted for Criminal Recklessness and Battery was at an apartment located on Lillian Street.

When they arrived at the apartment at about 1:25 am, they found Carmichael and Shannon Rector, both of Kendallville hiding in the bathtub.

Indiana State Police were called in after the meth making materials were found.

Carmichael is being held on no bond, while Rector was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released.
