Police hope photos lead to woman’s capture

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  The Fort Wayne Police Department released two photos Tuesday morning of a woman believed to have taken part in the theft of an elderly woman’s purse.

The theft took place on March 11, 2014 at the Dollar General Store located at 1133 Coliseum Boulevard.  According to police, the elderly woman was driving out of the parking lot when she was flagged down by a woman who told her the car’s front tire was flat.  When the woman got out to check the tire, another woman opened the passenger door and stole her purse.

On March 20, a woman used the victim’s personal information at the Wells Fargo bank branch on Bluffton Road to steal money.

Anyone who might recognize the person in the photos is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
