Fire closes Marion Community Schools building

MARION, Ind. (WISH) – A fire caused the Marion Community Schools Education Service Center to close on Tuesday morning, according to the school system’s website.

The education center is located at 1240 S. Adams Street in Marion.

Officials say the building was evacuated around 9 a.m. after fire alarms went off. The roof suffered the most damage, but school officials are still unsure how extensive the damage to the building is.

School officials said they aren’t sure what caused the fire as of Tuesday morning.

The district office building is closed and temporary work places are being set up. All calls are being routed to Tucker Career and Technology Center offices.

No one was injured, according to school officials.
