Man arrested in May 1 stabbing death

wayne trace stabbingFORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Fort Wayne police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing last week that left one man dead. David Randal Cocklin, 56, faces a felony charge of murder.

Investigators say around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, two men got into an argument at the Clark gas station near the intersection of Wayne Trace and Drexel Avenue. Medics took Raynell C. White, 30, to the hospital in critical condition and he was later pronounced dead.

Officers took Cocklin into custody Monday night. He’s being held in the Allen County Jail without bond.
