File Judge gavel court

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana jury has convicted a professional inline skater on two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Twenty-eight-year-old William E. Bowen of Greensboro, North Carolina, was taken into custody Thursday after an Allen County jury convicted him on the felony counts.

The charges stemmed from an attack that occurred during an inline skating competition in Fort Wayne during the summer of 2011.

The Journal Gazette reports ( ) court documents say the girl was also in the city for that competition and had identified herself as Bowen’s “No. 1 fan.”

The girl told police Bowen had sex with her while they were alone in his hotel room. She had visited the hotel while hanging out with fellow skaters.
