FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – According to the Allen County Coroner, the man who died after a fight at a gas station Thursday night was stabbed.

The death of Raynell C. White, 30, of Fort Wayne, is the fourth homicide in Allen County in 2014.

Officers were called for a fight with a possible stabbing at the intersection of Wayne Trace and Drexel Avenue at 8:19 p.m. on Thursday.

FWPD spokesperson Officer Chris Felton said officers arrived in an area near the Clark gas station and found a man in critical condition. Medics took White to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Felton said investigators were told a fight took place between two men in the parking lot of the gas station. White was stabbed in the chest.

Witnesses told police a pickup truck left the area which may have been involved in the incident. An Indiana State Trooper located the truck a short time later and the occupant of the truck was taken into police custody, according to Felton.

As of Friday morning, no charges had been filed against the individual.

Investigators are trying to determine if the two knew each other and what might led to the altercation.

Police were talking with potential witnesses and reviewing gas station surveillance video to gather more information.
