FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Concordia’s Abbie Grover stole the spotlight with an amazing home run-saving grab in the third inning, but it was Bishop Dwenger who came out on top 4-2 in a clash of SAC softball powerhouses.
In the bottom of the third Grover leaped over the fence to rob a long blast by Dwenger’s Allie Dennie.
However, Dwenger scored two in the first inning and never looked back. The Saints were led by Kristina Burkhardt’s 3-for-3 performance at the plate. Burkhardt added two runs scored and an RBI.
Jordan Schneider was solid on the mound and at the plate. The senior gave up only four hits and struck out ten. She also went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
