FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne man pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder on Tuesday after he shot his wife and stepdaughter at a home in Dupont Estates Mobile Home Park back in October.

Police said Stephen D. Walker got into an argument with his wife shortly before the shooting on October 28, 2013. According to court documents, Tina Walker filed for divorce in September of 2013. The shooting happened the night before the couple’s final divorce hearing.

Walker was captured by police three days after the shooting. Walker apparently led police on a foot pursuit, then drove off in a car. Police said Walker hit a police car with his car, then continued driving and later crashed into a field off of Diebold Road.

According to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, the other eight counts Walker was charged with will be dropped if the judge accepts the plea agreement at his sentencing.

Walker’s sentencing is scheduled for May 27.
