Wabash County man killed in mobile home fire

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  Crews arrived on scene of a reported fire in rural Wabash County late Sunday afternoon and found a mobile home located at 258 W, 950 N, in flames.  Once the fire was extinguished, investigators found the body of a man lying near the back door of the home.

The victim has been identified as Asberry Simpson, 64, and the cause of death was determined to be smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the Indiana State Fire Marshal has been called in to help investigate.

Fire departments from Pleasant Township, Chester Township, Urbana and Roann all responded.
