FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Behind 25-points from MVP Justin Mitchell – the Indiana boys trounced Ohio in the 22nd annual Nancy Rehm Border Wars Classic Sunday afternoon 127-87. The former Wayne star connected on 12-of-20 shots and also added 12 rebounds. North Side big man Mike Davis added 19 points, with Norwell’s David Vogel chipping in 13. In all, the Indiana team shot 54 percent from the floor, with six players finishing in double figures. Elijah Kahlig lead Ohio with 23 points.
In the girls showdown, Indiana again turned to a Fort Wayne resident to do the heavy lifting. Canterbury star Kindell Fincher recorded the only double-double of the game with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Former Homestead star and future Butler Bulldog Sydney Buck connected three times from beyond the arc on her way to 19 points as the Indiana squad won handily 95-70.
