Excise arrests 38 during Purdue’s Grand Prix week

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WANE) – Indiana State Excise Police said officers arrested 38 people on 46 different charges during Purdue University’s Grand Prix week.

Police said 31 people were cited for Illegal Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage and other charges included Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Furnishing an Alcoholic Beverage to a Minor.

Officers arrested George T. Armstrong, 52, of Lafayette, on Wednesday night on an OWI charge with a blood alcohol content (BAC)  of .15 percent or higher. Armstrong was also preliminarily charged with OWI Endangerment.
