FISHERS, Ind. (WANE) An Indianapolis man apparently thought he could get away with stealing a Porsche Cayenne on Thursday, but instead he’s now facing a felony charge of auto theft.
According to the Fishers Police Department, Trevor M. Onar, 23, drove the SUV off the lot of Coast to Coast Imports and hit and struck an employee in the process.
Another employee called 911 and as police and paramedics were on their way to the dealership, an officer spotted the white Cayenne traveling southbound on State Road 37.
The officer pulled the Porsche over, but when he got out of the squad car, Onar sped off.
A short time later the Porsche was found abandoned near a Super Target store. A K-9 was called in to help search and eventually a man matching the thief’s description was found hiding in a restroom of the Super Target.
After being taken to the Fishers Police Department for questioning, Onar suffered a medical condition and was taken to a nearby hospital. After being medically cleared by the emergency room doctor, Onar was taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
The employee who was hit by the Cayenne was treated at the scene by paramedics.
