Komets Win Game Four 3-1, Take 3-1 Series Lead

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Komets can close out their first round series with the top-seed Royals on Sunday at War Memorial Coliseum after beating Reading 3-1 on Friday night in game four and taking a 3-1 series lead.

Kaleigh Schrock opened the scoring just 4:04 into the first period with his first goal of the postseason. Stanislav Galiev would beat Ben Meisner for a power play goal late in the period to knot the game at 1-1 after one.

Christian Ouellet would give the Komets a 2-1 advantage in the second period, while Mike Embach’s goal with 3:03 left in the third period set the final.

Meisner stopped 33-of-34 shots in goal for the Komets. Riley Gill stopped 27-of-30 for the Royals.

Game five will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Coliseum.
