Police investigate an armed robbery at the Lima Road Shell gas station early Monday morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police are searching for two men who robbed a gas station at gunpoint early Monday morning.

Police were dispatched to the Shell gas station, located at 4933 Lima Road, at 12:43 a.m.

The gas station’s cashier told police two men walked through the door of the gas station with black fabric over their faces. He said both men pointed silver handguns at him and demanded money.

The victim said the suspects emptied the cash drawers behind the counter then told him to take them to the back of the store. The suspects seemed to know that there was more money back there, according to police.

After the robbery, the suspects told the employee to go into the bathroom and wait five minutes before coming out.

The victim described the suspects as about 6 feet tall with slim builds. He said they looked to be in their mid-to-late 20’s. One suspect was wearing a red baseball hat and green gloves, according to surveillance video.

A witness told police she saw two men running out of the gas station and get into a car parked in a hotel parking lot to the south of the gas station.

The vehicle is described as a silver, four-door, newer model Lexus or Toyota.
