Canterbury Upsets Carroll 4-1 In Girls Tennis

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – No. 13 Canterbury topped seventh-ranked Carroll 4-1 on Monday in a match-up of two of the state’s best teams.

Canterbury’s Leah Barnes led the way at no. 1 singles, topping Butler-bound senior Rachel Sutton of Carroll. Barnes won 6-1, 6-3 to stay undefeated on the season. Barnes was a first-team all-state pick last year as a sophomore while Sutton was all-state second team as a junior.

Carroll’s lone point came from the no. 1 doubles team of Mackenzie Schoeff and Taylor Stanchin who won 6-2, 6-1. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
