Third arrest made in Peanuts shooting


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Gang and Violent Crimes Unit arrested a third person in connection to the shooting at Peanuts Food and Spirits that happened on March 30.  Peanuts is located at 5727 St. Joe Road. Demanuel Tompkins was arrested Saturday just after 4:45 p.m. at 2727 Stardale Drive. He faces two charges including felony battery and criminal gang activity.

Detectives said they received tips from the community in reference to Tompkins’ location and were able to locate him at the apartments on Stardale Drive.

He was taken in to custody without further incident.

Two other men were arrested earlier this month in connection to the shooting.
