FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – More than 100 Comcast employees and their families spent the morning cleaning up Franke Park on Saturday as past of the 13th annual Comcast Cares Day.

The volunteers painted several areas of Franke Park as part of the company’s national service day. Fort Wayne TinCaps players Mallex Smith, Jose Carlos Urena, Fernando Perez and Ronnie Richardson also helped out.

Organizers said the annual event is a way for Comcast to say thank you to Fort Wayne.

“We live and work in this community, and we care about our community, so this is a chance for Comcast, its families, friends, and employees to help and pay back to the community,” Matthew Kelley, Comcast External Affairs, said.

More than 80,000 Comcast employees participated in projects across the country on Saturday.
