USF’s Carman Considered Among Top Punters In 2014 Draft Class

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – After earning All-American honors three straight seasons, Saint Francis punter Kollin Carman could soon be bringing his deadly accurate leg to the NFL. The Columbus, Indiana native is considered one of the top ten punter prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft Class by ESPN draft expert Todd McShay. After finishing as one of the most statistically impressive punters in the country at any level last season – it isn’t hard to see why McShay is so high on the former Cougar standout.

Carman readily admits there are plenty of punters out there with stronger legs – his game is built around accuracy and control. He adds that some of the best punters in the NFL today rely on the same characteristics to maintain their spot in the league.

According to Carman, he has already been in contact with 17 NFL franchises and is now hoping to be brought in for private workouts. Given the relatively few punters that are drafted each season, he anticipates being a free agent invite to rookie camp as opposed to hearing his name called come May 8th.
