Man critical after motorcycle crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Main Street was closed for two-and-a-half hours Friday morning in the city’s West Central Neighborhood after a motorcycle crash critically injured a man.

Just before 4 a.m., emergency responders were called to the intersection of Main Street and Watkins Street after several 911 calls reported a crash involving a three-wheeled motorcycle and man lying in the road.

When officers arrived they found a man near a motorcycle unconscious, but breathing. Paramedics took the man to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said the man was not wearing a helmet.

Investigators determined the motorcycle was traveling westbound and crossed the center line. The motorcycle struck a parked van, flipped, and threw the driver from the cycle.

It’s unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
