Two injured in crash on US 24

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Indiana State Police said two people were injured in a two-car crash on US 24 at State Road 19 Thursday afternoon.

Police said Rachael Pegg, 23, of Mexico, Indiana was driving northbound on SR 19 when she crossed the eastbound lanes of US 24 and failed to yield at the median crossover.

Pegg’s passenger side was hit by a car driven by Nyunt Shwe, 55, of Fort Wayne.

ISP said Rue Htoo, 40, of Fort Wayne, and Tun Aye, 46, of Logansport, both passengers in Shwe’s car, were transported by ambulance to Dukes Memorial Hospital. Pegg and Shwe were not injured in the crash.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.
