IPFW’s Sellan Named To All-MIVA First Team


FORT WAYNE, Ind. – IPFW sophomore Andy Sellan was named to the All-MIVA First Team, as Eddie Rivera and Omar Rivera were each named to the All-League Second Team, announced by the Association on Wednesday.

For Eddie Rivera, it is his third career All-MIVA award, while Sellan and Omar Rivera have received the award for the first times in their careers.

Sellan leads the team with 313 kills this season, averaging 3.26 kills per setting, hitting .295 for the year. He has added 31 aces – tied for second on the team – and 128 digs.

Eddie Rivera has 287 kills this season, averaging 2.99 per set, and is hitting .290. He leads the team with 33 service aces, and stands second on the team with 178 digs – one off of the team lead.

Omar Rivera has dished out 990 assists to lead the team, and is just 10 assists away from picking up 1,000 assists in a season for just the 19th time in program history.

The 14th ranked Mastodons return to action on Saturday, April 19 when the team hosts the Ohio State Buckeyes at the Gates Sports Center in a 7 p.m. first serve.
