DECATUR, Ind. (WANE) – After winning the program’s second straight indoor state championship earlier this season the Bellmont girls track and field squad was named the FWO Team of the Week on April 15.
The Squaws won the small school division for the second year in a row, topping second place Concordia 77.5 to 62. Bishop Chatard finished third with 48 points.
Bailey Beery of Bellmont took first in the 3,200 meters. Holly Hankenson finished first in the long jump and second in the 60 meter hurdles while twin sister Bailee Hankenson came in fifth in the high jump. Rachel Klingensmith finished fifth in the pole vault.
Bellmont was also strong in the relays. The Squaws took second in the 4×400 relay, second in the 4×800, and fourth in the distance medley.
