FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A vacant home was badly damaged by fire early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called just before 1 a.m. to a single-story home at 1920 Hoagland Avenue and found smoke and flames coming from the building.

Crews needed about twenty minutes to get everything under control.

Fire officials said firefighters initially went inside to attack the flames but needed to pull back due to intense heat. Crews eventually went back inside to finish putting out hot spots and clear debris for investigators.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
