NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – A local lumber company is closing it’s doors after nearly 100 years of business.

Brueggemann Lumber in New Haven has been serving the area for 97 years.

Owner, Rick Wolf, said that they’re closing because no one in the family can take over the business.

He said although it has been difficult for the employees, the company is helping them find new jobs.

Overall, Wolf said they’re grateful for their customers.

“We just want to thank everybody for all that they’ve given us, all the memories, all the valued business and trust that they’ve placed in us over the years. And we can’t say enough how much we’ve been proud and honored to serve this community,” said Wolf.

Wolf wants to sell the space to someone who will benefit the community.

Any items that haven’t been sold will be auctioned.
