FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Treasurer’s Office has a new self-pay kiosk available for residents who want an easy way to pay their taxes.
The kiosk is bilingual and accepts cash payments, checks, and credit cards. It can also make change.
“As far as we know, we are the very first treasurer office in our country to offer this kind of tax payment option,” Susan Orth, Treasurer for Allen County, said.
The kiosk is located just outside the treasurer’s office in Rousseau Centre and is available during business hours from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“To use the kiosk, one simply scans their tax bill or searches and selects their property, enters payment, takes their change and receipt and that’s all there is to it,” Orth said.
Property tax bills were mailed Friday. Due dates this year are May 12 and November 10.
Other payment methods include mail, pay plans, in office payment, some local banks, and online.
