Four arrested in Steuben County meth bust

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Police arrested four people on drug-related charges Friday after receiving a complaint of a suspicious car parked in the driveway of a Hamilton home.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, around 7 a.m., police received a call that a car was parked at a home in the 4100-block of East Bellefountaine Road. Police found four people inside the home, along with items commonly used to make methamphetamine.

After receiving a search warrant, police found meth and drug paraphernalia inside the home.

Police arrested Aaron S. Brown, 36, Leslie J. Swindell, 34, Joseph Cotrell, 34, and Amy J. Miller, 39, at the scene.

Brown was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.

Swindell was charged with aiding in manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.

Cotrell was charged with aiding in manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.

Miller was charged with aiding in manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.  Police said Miller also had a drug-related arrest warrant out of Williams County, Ohio.

All four were booked into the Steuben County Jail and have a bond of $157,500.
