Ants Take Series Opener In Reno 97-96

RENO, Nevada (WANE) – Tim Ohlbrecht’s go-ahead bucket with 5.8 seconds left in regulation proved to be the difference Friday in Reno as the Bighorns missed a game-winning attempt at the buzzer and the Mad Ants escaped with a 97-96 win in game one of the best-of-three first round playoff series.

Ohlbrecht ended the night with 11 points. Matt Bouldin led the way for the Ants with 20 while the NBDL’s all-time leading scorer Ron Howard chipped in with 19 points. Sadiel Rojas racked up a double-double for the Ants with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The series now shifts to the Summit City. Game two is set for 7 p.m. Sunday night at War Memorial Coliseum. Game three, if necessary, will be Tuesday night in Fort Wayne.
