IPFW To Promote Coffman To Head Coach

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Just two days after it was first reported Tony Jasick was leaving IPFW to accept the head coaching position at Jacksonville University, NewsChannel 15 has learned from a source close to the situation that Jasick’s top assistant Jon Coffman is expected to be promoted and named the new head coach of the Dons.

According to a source it is expected to be a “smooth transition” following Jasick’s departure.

Coffman joined the IPFW coaching staff as an assistant in 2011 and has a track record of being a strong recruiter, particularly in the state of Florida. He has been credited with helping to land key players on last seasons 25-win team such as Luis Jacobo, Pierre Bland and Steve Forbes.

An official announcement from IPFW is expected soon.
