DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A vacant mobile home was destroyed by fire late Monday night in DeKalb County.

Firefighters were called around 11:30 p.m. to 5760 County Road 327 Lot 35, a few miles south of Garrett, and found a mobile home engulfed in flames.

Crews from Garrett and LaOtto helped put out the flames.

Garrett Fire Department Chief Chad Werkheiser said the previous homeowner moved out several weeks ago and all the utilities had been disconnected.

No injuries were reported.

Werkheiser said the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office will investigate the cause Tuesday morning.
