Inspiring stories for healthy futures

Healthier Moms and Babies is a local perinatal agency that works to reduce infant mortality.  It works with at risk families every day; provides health information, referrals and advocacy prior to birth and until the child is age one.  Once a year, the general public can catch a glimpse behind the scenes of these stories and be inspired by those who invest in healthy outcomes at the “Nurturing Mothers, Nurturing Our Future” luncheon and silent auction.  Each year the organization honors two individuals; one who embodies the goals of Healthier Moms and Babies, and one who is a former client.  This year, Dr. Phil Tyndall, retired OB-GYN will receive the Inspiration Award.  The client who will receive the Kitty Shanahan Memorial Award will be honored at the luncheon.

It will be held on Thursday, May 8.  Registration and bidding for the silent auction will open at 11a.m. followed by a lunch at noon.  WANE-TV NewsChannel 15 anchor, Heather Herron will emcee the program.  Tickets are priced at $65 per person.  Reservations may be made online or by calling 260-425-3348.  The event is the primary fundraising event for the nonprofit.
