Woman’s body found in lake

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Police said a woman’s body was found in a lake in Porter, Indiana on Sunday morning after a fisherman reported seeing something suspicious in the water.

According to Indiana State Police, the fisherman called police around 7:10 a.m. after seeing something suspicious floating in Lake Charles. ISP divers, along with the Porter Fire and Rescue team, responded to the scene. The lake is in a park which is open to the public, according to police.

Drivers recovered a woman’s body from the water.

Police said an autopsy is scheduled for later this week to positively identify the body.

ISP said the investigation is ongoing.
