Mad Ants Earn Franchise Record 33rd Win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants presented by Lutheran Health Network were able to notch their franchise record 33rd win this evening in Fort Wayne when they beat the Maine Red Claws 122-104.  Sadiel Rojas scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Ants to the victory.

Fort Wayne took control of the game in the third quarter when it went on 26-11 run to open up a 90-73 lead with 4:26 left in the third.  Tony Mitchell pushed that lead to nineteen when he hit a three pointer off a Fort Wayne fast break, and the home team went into the fourth with a 96-80 advantage.

The Red Claws clawed their way back into the game in the fourth and got the Mad Ants lead down to eleven on a Tyshawn Taylor three pointer, but big man Tim Ohlbrecht and sharpshooter Trey McKinney-Jones combined for 13 points in the quarter and pushed the lead back nineteen.  The Mad Ants cruised from there for the 122-104 win.

Chris Wright led the Maine Red Claws with 30 points and 13 rebounds, and local IPFW produce Frank Gaines contributed 23 points in the loss.

For the Mad Ants, Ron Howard added 21 points, Tony Mitchell and Tim Ohlbrecht each at 16, and Matt Bouldin chipped in with 14 points and 10 assists.
