FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Crews demolished what was left of a Fort Wayne restaurant Monday morning after a massive fire destroyed it back in January.

On the night of January 26, a passerby called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the Paper Lantern, located at 4610 Coldwater Road. Firefighters never had a chance to get into the building due to strong winds fueling the flames and a concern for the structural integrity of the building.

It took firefighters nearly 90 minutes to get everything under control.

Firefighters battled a massive blaze at the Paper Lantern restaurant on Coldwater Road Sunday night.

The business was closed at the time of the fire and officials said no one was inside at the time the fire broke out. No injuries were reported in the fire.

Paper Lantern was a stand-alone building that served Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine, according to the company’s website.

Investigators have not released the cause of the fire.
