Honors Rolling In For IPFW’s Kaiser

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – IPFW second baseman Greg Kaiser added to his accolades this week as College Sports Madness named him the Madness National Field Player of the Week and Summit League Player of the Week.

Kaiser, a Fort Wayne native and graduate of Bishop Dwenger H.S., becomes the first Summit League player in 2014 to be named a National Player of the Week by College Sports Madness. He joins teammate Kevin Wirth as IPFW players to be named the Madness Summit League Player of the Week this season.

Kaiser led IPFW in nearly every offensive category in a three-game series at Eastern Illinois. The sophomore had three hits in game one and added two hits with three RBI in the series finale. In the middle game of the series, the second baseman had four hits, including two homers, seven RBI and two runs scored. For the week, Kaiser batted .692 (9-for-13) with 10 RBI, three runs, two home runs, a double and one stolen base. He totaled 16 bases for a 1.231 slugging percentage and .692 on-base percentage while recording at least two hits in each game.
