Homestead, Dwenger both lose basketball semi-state Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  – The Homestead Spartans lost 79-57 against Lake Central High School, out of St. John, Indiana. The 4A semi-state game was played at Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette. Saturday’s game was the first time in the school’s history that Homestead played in semi-state. The Spartans defeated #3 Hamilton Southeastern 59-57 last Saturday.

Dwenger took on Bowman Academy out of Gary, Indiana for the 3A game. Bishop Dwenger fell 85-71. The game was at Huntington North High School in Huntington.

Bishop Dwenger captured its first regional championship since 1996, outlasting Muncie Central 50-47 in overtime, last weekend.
