FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Starting in April, travelers will be able to use their smart phone to pay for parking at Fort Wayne International Airport.

The Fort Wayne – Allen County Airport Authority will be installing the QP Quickpay secure mobile app payment service at all of the airport parking lots.

To take advantage of the service and avoid having to hold onto a ticket and then pay an attendarnt, travelers will have to download the free QP QuickPay smartphone app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once the app is installed, they’ll have to follow simple directions to create an account using your credit or debit card.

Before arriving at the airport, they’ll need to open the app and then scan a QR Code at lot entry to raise the gate, and then enter the lot. When departing, they’ll scan the QR Code at the exit to raise the gate, and their credit card will automatically be charged the parking fee based on the entrance and exit dates and times. An e-receipt will be e-mailed after the transaction is completed.
