FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police said a woman who had crack cocaine in her purse ran from an officer and was later arrested when she slipped and fell on some ice.

A Fort Wayne Police Department officer was looking for Shannon D. Labrosse, 36, on March 16 because she had a warrant out for her arrest. The officer saw a woman who looked like Labrosse walking along the road shortly before 4:30 a.m. Labrosse saw the FWPD squad car and started running.

The officer got out of his car and yelled at her to stop. Police said Labrosse kept running and then slipped on some ice and fell to the ground.

According to court documents, the officer found three glass stems, or “crack stems,” along with crack cocaine in Labrosse’s purse. She was arrested at the scene.

Labrosse is facing possession cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting law enforcement charges.
