INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Colts owner Jim Irsay has voluntarily checked into a facility, following his arrest on Sunday night.
Avis Roper, Senior Director of Communications with the Colts, said Tuesday afternoon that Irsay “checked into a highly-respected health care facility and is committed to undergoing the treatment and care necessary to help him meet his challenges head-on.”
Roper said Irsay, his family, and the Colts organization are thankful for the support from fans and the Indiana community.
Irsay was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Sunday in Carmel. He was preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. He was released from jail Monday afternoon, and later took to Twitter, thanking people for their support.
