Police: Woman found near parking lot not victim of crime

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) –UPDATE: Police said a woman who was found lying outside near a parking lot early Sunday morning was not the victim of a crime. Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman Michael Joyner said the victim suffered from a medical condition.

Police said an unconscious woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being found lying outside near a parking lot.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers responded to the 3500-block of Harris Road at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. When officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they found an unconscious woman lying outside. Paramedics gave her medical attention before taking her to a local hospital in critical condition.

The name of the woman hasn’t been released.

Investigators have very few details about the incident and are trying to locate possible witnesses who may have information. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department.

This incident remains under investigation.
