FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Students from 16 Fort Wayne area high schools designed and constructed giant structures made out of non-perishable food items for the ninth annual CANstruction competition.
On Friday, the students, who are mentored by local engineering and design professionals, had exactly 12 hours to build the creations. The display stretches from Macy’s to Sears in the main corridor inside of Glenbrook Square Mall.
This year’s theme is “Great Travel Destinations.”
The masterpieces will be on display through Sunday, March 23. After the competition, all of the canned goods will go to help hungry families in northeast Indiana.
CANstruction is Community Harvest’s largest annual food drive.
WANE-TV is a proud sponsor of this event.
