MONROEVILLE, Ind. (WANE) – A woman and her two kids are safe after driving into a small ravine Friday morning.

The Allen County Sheriffs Department was called to 20859 Hoagland Road around 7:45 a.m. on a report of a slide-off into water. Officers on the scene said the woman was driving east on the snow-covered road when she lost control.

The vehicle went off the north side of the road, near a small ravine. The front of the car landed on an ice shelf that eventually broke, sending the car into the water underneath.

Two children were in the car at the time of the crash. Police said the woman sustained minor injuries and both children were unharmed. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
