SIOUX CITY, Iowa (WANE) – Huntington University overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to rally and defeat Menlo (Calif.) in the first round of the NAIA DII women’s national tournament on Thursday afternoon.

The Foresters (24-8) connected on 14-of-14 free throws in the second half.

Pazia Speed paced Huntington with 24 points while Amelia Recker added 19.

Huntington advances to face Northwestern (Iowa) – one of the tournament’s four no.1 seeds – in the second round Friday at 2:45 p.m. Fort Wayne time.
