FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Construction that was expected to start Wednesday on the Johnny Appleseed Bridge on Coliseum Boulevard has now been pushed back to the middle or end of next week.

The project will increase capacity and provide a continuous three-lane section of highway between Parnell Avenue and Crescent Avenue. In addition, a left turn lane will be added from eastbound Coliseum into IPFW.

Motorists should be aware of traffic controls, including signage and barrels, while the work is in progress. Temporary daytime closures are scheduled to be completed by late March and the entire project is schedule to be done by late November, weather permitting. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
