SIOUX CITY, Iowa (WANE) – Top-ranked Saint Francis had no problem in their first round game of the NAIA Division II National Tournament as the Cougars topped Ashford (Iowa) 57-37.

Bishop Luers graduate Brooke Ridley racked up a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Crossroads League conference player of the year Skylarr Shurn led the Cougs in scoring with 17 points.

Norwell high school grad Jenelle Wilson chipped in 10 points.

Saint Francis improves to 34-0 on the season.

USF advances to the second round where they will play the winner of today’s Siena Heights/Tennessee Wesleyan game at 11:15 Fort Wayne time on Friday.
