FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man was seriously hurt after being struck by a vehicle on Forest Avenue Tuesday morning, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Around 5:30 a.m., a man called 911 after being struck from behind by a vehicle on Forest Avenue near an alley between Florida Drive and Forest Park Boulevard.

City police dispatchers said the man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the impact.

Police at the scene said the victim told them he was hit by a dark colored vehicle, but additional information on the vehicle or the driver was not available.

No other witnesses have come forward.

The incident remains under investigation.
