Leo Hockey Celebrates 4A State Title

LEO, Ind. (WANE) – The Leo hockey team celebrated winning the 4A state title over the weekend with a parade on Monday night at the school.

The Lions beat Carmel Gold 2-1 in double overtime Saturday at Lutheran Health SportsCenter in the title game. Tyler Grunden scored a breakaway goal for the game-winner.

By winning Saturday the Lions completed a season trifecta – winning the Chin Trophy as Fort Wayne’s regular season champion, winning the Memorial Cup as the city tourney champ, and taking home the 4A state title.

The Lions are coached by Dan Schiebel.
