Tip leads to LaGrange County meth bust

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  – Police said a tip led officers to the arrest of two people, including a woman who was wanted on felony charges out of LaGrange County.

According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, on Thursday, officers received a tip that Melissa Norris was staying at a residence at 7715 E 750 N.

When police arrived, Gregory Williams said Norris was not at the home. He then gave officers consent to search the home.

Officers found Norris in a back bedroom. While officers were speaking to Williams, they were able to see a one pot meth lab and paraphernalia in plain view. Police then called the Indiana State Police Lab Team.

Police said Williams and Norris were both arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail.

Williams was charged with:

  • Manufacturing Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Paraphernalia
  • Maintaining a Common Nuisance

Norris was charged with:

  • Manufacturing Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Paraphernalia
  • Visiting a Common Nuisance

Police said in addition to Norris’ new charges, she was booked on an outstanding warrant for:

  • Failure to appear, possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Chemical Reagents
  • Maintaining a Common Nuisance
  • Possession of Paraphernalia
