FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The man who was hit and killed by an SUV Friday evening on Meyer Road between Washington Boulevard and New Haven Avenue has been identified.

According to the Allen County Coroner, Adam Christopher Shaw, 29, of Fort Wayne, died from blunt force trauma injuries on Sunday.

Shaw was struck by the SUV at around 8:35 p.m. Friday.  He was initially in critical condition at Lutheran Hospital.

A witness told investigators that Shaw was dressed in all dark clothing, making it difficult to see him. The driver of the SUV said he never saw the man walking.

Police said Shaw was wearing headphones when it happened.

Police said neither drugs nor alcohol were factors for the driver.
