Two injured, one critically, in LaGrange Co. crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  A snow pile may have blocked the view of a car that crossed into the path of a truck, leaving left two injured on Thursday.

The accident happened at of State Road 5 and County Road 200 S at about 8 a.m. According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, the truck’s momentum pushed car off the side of the road and into a fence.

The crash left Mikayla Rex, 18,  in serious condition and Jaid Rex, 16, in critical condition. Mikayla Rex was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and Jaid Rex was airlifted from the scene.

The road was closed for almost 2 hours while the crash was investigated. It remains under investigation.

The Shipshewana Police Department, Topeka Police Department, Shipshewana Fire Department, Topeka Fire Department, Parkview EMS, and Parkview Samaritan Flight Crew were all on the scene.
